The Amazon Rainforest
What is a Bromeliad?
A Bromelaid it is a flower that is found in the Amazon Rainforest. The Bromeliad is an epiphyte anchored to a tree and does not need much soil. It lives on nutrients from leaves that drop in it from above.
The bromeliad is part of the pineapple family. In the inside of the bromeliad the inserts (bettles ect) sometimes live in it. But it wasn't just inserts there was found inside of it, there was one Bromeliad that had some small beetles, crane flies, earwigs, frogs, cockroach, spiders, fly larvae, millipede, scorpion, woodlice and earthworm. In the center of the Bromeliad, which is shaped like a bowl can catch the rain in it. Since the rain is in the center the frogs can go and lay their tadpoles in it. They have thick, wavy leaves. There are more than 2,500 different species of Bromeliad.
